Monroe County is proud to have six Ohio Historical Markers on display throughout the county. The Markers program enables Ohioans to commemorate and celebrate local history and to learn more about the state. They are permanent and highly visible telling the story of Ohio's history and prehistory. The six markers include:
- The Kindelberger Stone House and Barn
- Beallsville/Monroe County Honors Vietnam War Causalities
- Sardis Town Pump
- Fly Landing of the Sisterville Ferry
- Mary Weddle Hines/Sad Sam Jones
- Bellaire Zanesville and Cincinnati Railroad
